FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can we find you?

You’ll find our pier and main office at 72 Commercial Street, just beyond Scales restaurant. We offer pickup throughout the Casco Bay, so guests will find our boats out on the water as well.

How do you work out the fares?

We base our fares on the time and destination. For detailed rates, check out our fare calculator here.

What's the maximum number of passengers per boat?
Our water taxis and smaller charter boats have a capacity of six people, as per Coast Guard regulations. For larger groups, the Casco Bay Cat and Joseph S. Kennedy can accommodate up to 49 passengers. Please note: all passengers count towards this maximum, including infants and children, due to USCG policies.
Do you provide parking facilities?
While we don’t have dedicated parking, we do allow temporary access to our wharf for unloading purposes.
Is tipping the Captain customary?
Yes, we appreciate any tips for our captains. A standard gratuity is around 20%.
What if we have more than six members in our group?
For groups exceeding six, you’ll need to book multiple taxis up to a maximum of 12 passengers on two boats. Alternatively, we also provide the Casco Bay Cat and the UB-85, both seating up to 49 guests for charters, but these must be booked ahead of time.
Can we rent a boat?

We offer boat rentals for custom private charters and excursions, however you cannot captain your own boat.

What qualifications do your staff have?
Our captains are highly skilled, with each holding a US Coast Guard captain’s license. Our crew members are well-trained and prioritize safety.
Will our taxi ride be private?

We reserve the right to add parties to taxi rides based on capacity and needs. Please note group rates are discounted.

What’s your cancellation policy?
We have nuanced cancellation policies for different services and circumstances:
● Small Boat Charters: Cancel at least 2 days in advance for a full refund. If cancellation occurs later than this, a 50% deposit is retained.

If it fits, yes; however, there may be an additional fee of up to $60 At the captain’s discretion.
Do we need to prepay for water taxi rides?
